The recent addition of our popular sea salt range was inspired by a recipe that had lain hidden for 350 years. Galvin Weston our Chairman recently discovered that in 1668 Edward Montagu, the 2nd Earl of Sandwich, from whom he is directly descended, devised a dessert using a salty chocolate liquid. This became the inspiration behind the latest sea salt truffles and sea salt batons and is typical of the way in which Charbonnel et Walker cleverly combines tradition and history into its new products.
Milk chocolate (35.1%) (sugar, cocoa butter, whole milk powder, cocoa mass, emulsifier (soya lecithin), natural vanilla flavouring), dark chocolate (32.5%) (cocoa mass, sugar cocoa butter, emulsifier (soya lecithin)), sugar confectionary (25.5%) (glucose syrup, sweetened condensed skimmed milk (skimmed milk, sugar), fully hydrogenated vegetable fat (coconut), salt, flavourings, emulsifier (mono & di-glycerides of fatty acids)), icing sugar (cane sugar, anti caking agent (tri-calcium phosphate)), fat reduced cocoa powder, acidity regulator ( Potassium carbonate)), sea salt (0.5%).
