Our original sea salt caramel truffle recipe is a sweet liquid caramel with a hint of sea salt, all captured in a scrumptious milk chocolate shell. An explosion of silky smooth caramel!
The recent addition of our popular sea salt range was inspired by a recipe that had lain hidden for 350 years. Galvin Weston our Chairman recently discovered that in 1668 Edward Montagu, the 2nd Earl of Sandwich, from whom he is directly descended, devised a dessert using a salty chocolate liquid. This became the inspiration behind the latest sea salt truffles and sea salt batons and is typical of the way in which Charbonnel et Walker cleverly combines tradition and history into its new products.
